Gastrointestinal Specialty Testing

Having gut issues lately? Your doctor may have requested your stool to be tested for certain bacteria, parasites or glucose intolerance depending on your symptoms.

If you have any concerns or questions about the procedure, it's advisable to discuss them with your healthcare provider before undergoing testing.

Microbiology

Microbiology stool testing is a diagnostic procedure that involves the analysis of a stool (faeces) sample to assess the presence of microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses and parasites. It is a valuable testing method for healthcare professionals to make informed decisions about your health. If your doctor recommends this test, it is usually a safe and non-invasive way to identify and understand the causes of gastrointestinal infections and other digestive system-related issues providing guidance in prescribing targeted therapies to you.

Microbiology
Molecular

Molecular microbiology stool testing involves examining the genetic material of microorganisms present in your stool. This cutting-edge technique goes beyond traditional microbiology stool testing by specifically identifying the DNA or RNA of bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi. The process begins with the collection of a small stool sample, which is then sent to our laboratory for analysis. Within 24 hours your test results will be sent back to your referring doctor, providing guidance in prescribing targeted therapies to you.

Molecular
Biochemistry

Biochemistry testing of biopsies for Coeliac disease involves studying tiny samples of tissue taken from the lining of your small intestine. A biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure where a small instrument is used to collect these samples for analysis. The goal of this testing is to evaluate specific biochemical markers associated with Coeliac disease.
